Notification regarding annversary of Serbs suffering in the agression of Croatian army on the Serb Krajina in the August 95 On the 04.of August 1995, Croatian armed forces, with NATO's approval and support, in the joint forces of Croatian defense council (Hrvatsko Vijece odbrane- HVO) and BiH Army, had executed an aggression on Serb Krajina (North Dalmatia, Lika, Kordun and Banija). This aggression was executed despite the facts that this area was under UN protection (Sectors South and North) and that RSK delegates, only one day earlier in Geneva with Croatian delegation, before UN delegates and in Belgrade before USA representative, as a leading NATO member, had accepted proposal of international community. The proposal was that negotiation regarding final political agreement about Krajina status is conducted on the base of Plane Z-4, with intention of ceasing fire and for that reason they were assured that attack want be. Around 200.000 soldiers from Croatia and HVO headed against Krajina Serbs (around 230.000 inhabitants, with around 30.000 soldiers). If the Muslim and NATO forces are added to that figure, it appeared, that number of aggressor's soldiers is bigger than inhabitants in Krajina, and proportion was at least 7:1 for aggressor. When all Krajina was exposed, up to that moment, to unseen artillery fire and while Croatian soldiers were killing and burning whatever was Serbians, The Supreme Commander of Croatian Army and President of Croatia, Mr. Franjo Tudjman, through the radio and TV, “in the name of Croatian democratic power” had been inviting Serbs “to remain in their homes and without any apprehension for the own life and for the own property, welcome Croatian government.” For the several days of the unequal fight, Krajina Serb Army's (SVK) resistance was destroyed. People from west part of Krajina, instructed by “historical experience”, started drifting into the biggest Serb “migration” (around 220.000 people), toward east, to their brothers by nation and religion. Croatian soldiers (same as Muslim soldiers) that encountered Serbs already did use many time tested methods of liquidation (slaughter, incineration, bullet in the back of the head, throwing into the pits.) but also some new methods (freezing and chemically burning). On the VERITAS evidences, there are names of 1,934 dead and missing Serbs from this action and later on. Among them are 1,196 civilian people, and half of them are older then 60 years. There are 524 women and 14 children among them. From the total number of victims, up to the end of August 1995, it was killed 1,883 people, or 68 per day. Croats picked them up and buried 911 Serb corpses, mostly under the mark of “unknown”. Something more than half had been exhumed, one third identified, while exhumation of other registered tombs have been groundlessly postponed. For the majority from the list of disappeared, the corpses have not been found yet. Around 1,500 members of SVK came through the captivity, 15 of them are still in the Croatian prisons, convicted for war crimes. Around 3,200 of old and weak, that did not want or could not leave their ancestral homes, forcibly were interned in the camps for civilians. Krajina had been devastated, looted, and them burned. It had not been spared even religious, cultural, Serb historical, same as antifascist monuments. Even though, it was obvious that Croatian government undertook this aggression because of making territories without Serb majority that lived on that territory, Security Council, except “strong condemnation of Croatian military offence in the huge proportions” (R 1009/95), have not brought, not even that time, any kind of penalty clauses against aggressor.
